This Privacy Policy explains how Appsuccessor Media Private Limited ("Duout", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Duout website (duout.com) and the Duout iOS app.

2. Information we collect

On our website

• Waitlist details: if you join the waitlist, we collect what you enter: your mobile number or email address (whichever you choose), your city (and, if you choose "Other", the city you type in), your optional gender answer, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and where you signed up (the page and button you used).
• Usage data: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes pages viewed, buttons clicked, device and browser type, approximate location (city level) and how you reached us.
• Cookies: the site uses cookies for analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

In the Duout app

• Account details: name, phone number or email, date of birth, gender and who you want to meet.
• Profile content: photos, bio, interests and preferences you choose to add.
• Verification data: profile verification is mandatory. You complete a live selfie check on your iPhone (on-screen steps such as blinking and turning your head). The app compares your live face to your lead profile photo. Verification frames are processed on your device during the selfie check; we store whether your profile passed verification, not a separate biometric file for that session. Verification is a trust signal. It does not guarantee identity or safety.
• Location: your approximate location, to show you people and date places nearby, only with your permission. We do not show other members your exact coordinates.
• Messages and activity: matches, chats and date plans you make in the app.
• Device data: device type, app version and crash reports.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Duout is for adults (18+) only.

3. How we use your information

• To create and run your account and show your profile to other members.
• To verify profiles and keep the community safe, including detecting fake profiles, scams and abuse.
• To suggest matches and date ideas.
• To reply to your questions and send service messages.
• To improve the website and app using usage data.
• To send launch updates if you joined the waitlist. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

• Other members: the profile information you choose to show.
• Service providers who help us run Duout, such as hosting, analytics (Google Analytics), verification and customer support. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
• Authorities: when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members.
• Business transfers: if Duout is merged or sold, your data may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

5. Google API data

Our internal tools use Google APIs (Google Ads, Google Analytics and Search Console) only to read our own marketing and keyword data. We do not access or store any Google user's personal data through these tools. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. How long we keep data

• Waitlist details: until launch plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Account data: while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
• Analytics data: up to 14 months.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you can ask what personal data we hold about you, correct or update it, ask us to delete it, withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from emails or turn off location), raise a complaint with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encryption in transit and limited staff access. No system is 100% secure, so please keep your login details safe.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
